Fun Educational YouTube Videos and Kids Book Read Alouds: Engaging Stories for Children

Welcome, friends! It’s story time, and we’ve got a magical adventure ahead of us today! Whether you’re tuning in for fun kids book read alouds or exciting educational YouTube videos, we’re here to spark imagination and learning. Let’s get started with a friendly warm-up to get everyone energized and ready for today’s story!

Introduction and Warmup

Hello friends! It's that special time where we get our bodies ready for some story time magic. We start with a friendly warmup to get everyone energized. So let's go outside together, and put one arm out to our side. Are you ready to move like the ocean? Begin by lifting your fingers, then your wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Pretend you're a wave coming up on the other side. Let's do that faster, like an ocean current! Keep that flow going and let’s turn our movements into a fun wiggle.

Playful Movements

Airplane Fun

Next up, it's time to be an airplane! Spread your arms and move them in little circles. Feel yourself flying up and down, making bigger circles if you can. Imagine yourself as an airplane gliding through the sky. If you move your whole body along, you’ll look just like an airplane!

Balancing Act

Now, let's test our balance. Can you stand on one foot? Try stretching out one foot in front of you. Wow, that’s fantastic balance! Switch to the other foot. Great job! If you stretch your arms out, it might help you balance even better. Balancing can sometimes be tricky and needs practice, but that's okay. We are improving every day.

Bunny and Froggy Squats

Finally, let's squat down like a bunny, touching the ground. Come back up, and repeat! You could also pretend to be a froggy, squatting down and then hopping back up. Let's do it a few more times for good measure. Feeling those leg muscles, aren’t we?

A Challenging Riddle

It's now time to get our brains in gear with a riddle before the story begins. Here’s how it goes: I'll give you three hints, and after that, you'll have ten seconds to guess the answer.

Riddle Time

  • I am small, green, and have two eyes.
  • I usually like to bounce up and down and jump all around.
  • You can find me near bodies of water like lakes.

Do you have a guess? If you guessed a frog, you're absolutely correct! Great thinking!

The Star of the Story: Frog

Since our riddle answer is a frog, it’s only fitting that our story features a frog as the main character. We can learn how to say "frog" in different ways too. In Spanish, it is "Rana", and in American Sign Language, you make a fist and then flick your fingers in a way that looks almost like a frog jumping. Cool, isn’t it?

Today's Story: "This Book is Perfect"

Introduction to the Book

Let’s get cozy and dive into the story. Today, we are reading This Book is Perfect by Ron Keres with artwork by Arthur Lin. Our protagonist, Finn the Frog, claims that this book is the cleanest and most perfect book you'll ever see. Finn is a neat and tidy frog, quite unlike the typical slimy ones.

The Cheesy Puff Incident

As Finn tries to keep everything perfect, he notices cheesy puff residue on the pages—oh no! He insists that you can't eat cheesy puffs while reading. It's very important to have clean hands.

The Grape Juice Disaster

If things weren’t bad enough, grape juice spills onto the pristine pages. Finn is horrified because he knows grape juice stains paper badly. He tries his best to clean it but struggles with the mess.

The Chewing Gum Catastrophe

Just when Finn thinks things can’t get worse, chewing gum appears on the book. The sticky gum stuck on the page is a nightmare for Finn.

The Fly Invasion

Amidst all this trouble, flies show up. Finn becomes even more frustrated, knowing how dirty flies are. They land on his book, potentially spreading germs.

The Great Snack Epiphany

After all these chaotic moments, Finn has a realization. When the flies land, he remembers how delicious they are! He eats the flies and starts to see the bright side of things. Maybe the mess wasn’t so bad after all!

Wrap-Up and Takeaway

Finn the Frog learns valuable lessons about imperfections and how sometimes things don’t go as planned. However, that doesn’t mean it can’t turn out well. Sometimes, an unexpected mess can bring unexpected joys, like a delicious snack of flies.
